Veg Box

As part of my investigation into the social niceties of Leeds i went along to the veg box scheme pick up. Laura Stubbs has taken over the volunteer position which puts her in charge of weekly orders of fruit and veg. The scheme offers large medium and small veg boxes and fruit boxes which contain a different selection each week. The produce is as locally sourced as possible and the scheme has been running for years.

Laura the organiser has agreed to an interview for the purpose of our production, but refuses to be on camera.

Personal Infrastructures Initial Storyboard

After our trip around Leeds i was a bit dishearten by what we found and thought that the overwhelming amount of dis/miss-used space would change the focus of our film, With this in mind i made this rough storyboard to convey my exact idea to Will.

Panic - Title Sequence

Initial idea for a title sequence for my Panic Short.
I will also produce a comedy credit sequence. Crediting myself and the countless bananas that died to make this film possible.

Panic - Impact Board

The idea for my presentation boards for this brief and possibly all my other briefs is to simulate film posters, if only for the impact boards. These are the initial ideas for my Panic poster, My favorite design is the bottom middle, I have booked out the photography studio so i can take pictures for all the designs.

Leeds

Will and I went on an exploratory mission around Leeds to examine the use of space within the city centre and this is what we found:

Large spaces, both old and new, run down and refurbished and all un-used. The Original focus of our production was going to be a feel good take on the social niceties of Leeds, we went on a hunt to find local shops, local people, all parts of the community that are open for the public, and still hold traditional charm. Instead we were hit with an overwhelming amount of abandoned, un-used or misused spaces.

Buildings with amazing architecture, and buckets of charm such as the Grand Arcade and the Corn Exchange are barely in use. Whilst the city of Leeds plows money into monstrous new buildings/new refurbishments, which again go on to be misused. Masses of space with nothing to fill it from over priced rental rates.
With our countries current economical climate you would think that all this un-used space would be going for anything that brings money in.

Currently I am not sure if we will continue with our original feel good take, as this initial research has sent us down a new road which may be more exploitable.

Personal Infrastructures Idea Generation

On sitting down and talking with will we decided we wanted to investigate the social niceties of Leeds whilst entertaining our audience. Our original idea therefore is a feel good short documentary style film. We decided the 1st thing to do would be to visit the places we wanted to talk about, to get an idea of shots, people to interview etc
